A Record Shunning Scrutiny
The decision to withhold aligns with a pattern of sidestepping uncomfortable facts. This mirrors a dynamic in which the vast majority of Democratic officeholder in Congress acquiesced to an incumbent's decision for seeking another term until a disastrous public debate performance led to a change.
