Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
